Seven out of eight teams that will play in the Asia Minor, which will be organized by ESL in IEM Taipei from January 29 to February 2, have been determined.
Asia Minor will see eight of the best teams in Asia & Oceania compete for $50,000 and two spots at the qualifier for MLG Columbus which is going to be the first major of 2016. Travel and accommodation expenses of the qualified teams will be covered by ESL.
The qualifier of the major will feature the last eight teams of Dreamhack Open Cluj-Napoca, and eight teams from four regional minors and additional last chance tournaments.
SPUNJ & co will compete for a spot in the major qualifier
Renegades and CyberZen were directly invited to the minor and it was announced that the last six spots would be filled in with regional qualifiers. Following five of these tournaments, five new teams have secured a spot at the Asia Minor.
East Asian contest hosted teams from Korea, Japan, Hong Kong and Mongolia. The victorious team was TheMongolz who managed to beat MVP Project 2-0.
In the Oceania tournament playoffs; Immunity, Legacy, Chiefs were joined by Alpha Sydney who were the winners of the open qualifier. In the end, Chiefs took care of Immunity (2-1) and clinched their spot.
Chinese teams had their competition among themselves. Team TyLoo were the winners and they utterly destroyed their opponents Born of Fire in the finals, beating them in two maps (16-1 on de_mirage and 16-5 on de_inferno).
West Asia series ended up with two teams from United Arab Emirates in the final: Risky Gaming and Just Passing By. Beating their opponents earlier in the tournament as well, Risky Gaming didn't have much trouble and they were the victors.
South East Asian tournament saw the favorites MVP.karnal win 2-0 against devious from Singapore.
All the qualifiers except the Taiwanese one have been wrapped up and the teams for the Asia Minor are as follows:

Taiwanese qualifier will take place from January 23-January 24th and if you have a team from Taiwan, you can still sign up for the qualifier.
