DreamHack has partnered up with FACEIT to bump the prize pool of the upcoming Valencia tournament to $150,000.
The Spanish event, scheduled for July 16-18 inside Feria Valencia, was initially due to host a $40,000 CS:GO tournament as part of the Open circuit, featuring seven stops until the end of the year.
However, such a tournament has now been scrapped as DreamHack Valencia will instead serve as the venue for the offline finals of the FACEIT League 2015 Stage 2, which will have $150,000 up for grabs.
Team SoloMid are the current FACEIT League champions
There will not be any qualifiers nor invites for this tournament as the eight slots will be filled through the European, North American and Oceanic divisions of the FACEIT League.
"DreamHack is really excited to partner up with FACEIT in Valencia,” Michael Van Driel, Project Manager at DreamHack, said in a statement.
"With more and more tournaments popping up in CS:GO with the explosion of the games popularity, teams are being more and more exhausted, and fans are being overwhelmed with content that may not be as engaging as it previously was
"With this partnership we’re confident we’re taking the right steps to have a sustainable and balanced long term ecosystem within CS:GO while raising the bar for both players and the community."
All teams interested in participating in DreamHack Valencia's BYOC tournament can still do so, and they will be happy to know that the prize purse has been bumped to €5,000.
